Real Redskins

The social network for sophisticated Redskins fans

Well, the latest I hear is that the Redskins will actively pursue him. While I agree that he is one heck of a DT, would Snyder/Cerrato REALLY spend that kind of money on one player and diminish the ability to pursue other FA's that could fill other needs;i.e. DL,OL,LB??? I won't be ticked if we land him, but, for the $$ we could use that to pursue other FAs. Jusy my $.02.

I'd love to have Haynesworth's presence in the middle of the line, stuffing the run and forcing QBs back so Carter and whoever ends up on the other side can get to them. But I don't think the Skins are a DT away from the Superbowl and I can't imagine committing the kind of money Haynesworth is going to command. His injury history also worries me a bit. I'd vote for that money to be spent on young OL and LB depth.

I think it's another one of those "Redskins Rumours", Every high priced free agent is automatically position to come to the Redskins because Snyder is the big spender. Haynesworth would be a great addition and would immediatly make the defense better but I do not see it happening, especially with other teams like Tampa with a lot of money to spend. Once again, the initial free agent signinings will be exceptional and then the market cools with the Redskins becoming active.
The team is being setup to fully support an uncapped year, and 2010 could be interesting but I don't see it this year.
